I am looking for the family of Lilian Linnea Jernström, born 11.10.1893 to Sea Captain Karl Gustav Jernström and Alexandra Amalia Österman. I believe born in Stockholm. I am looking to see if she had siblings. Lilian married Karl Gustaf Wähämäki in 1918. She died 17.1.1928 in Shanghai, China, where her husband was part of the Finnish Diplomatic Corp.

Suggest you use this forum for Finland:

Swedish Census 1900 has nothing, even checked the Rotemansarkivet for Stockholm, in vain.

Yes, I know. I am a member of Finlander and am doing a search for the poster.
I don't have dates for Lilian's parents, just names. It is possible she wasn't born in Sweden, but that's what the poster believes. Lilian Wähämäki, her married name, supposedly died in Shanghai, China 17.1.1928. Her husband and son I found in the US. I haven't found her daughter as yet.

Perhaps the following might help By strange coincidence, the Finnish team included a gymnast, Karl Gustav Wahamaki, whose daughter was destined to give birth, forty years later, to Avery Brundage's only children.  from The games must go on: Avery Brundage and the Olympic movement  by Allen Guttmann. It is found on page 25

Lilian's father was on the 1912 Olympic team representing Finland at the games. Lilian was indeed his daughter. Very interesting info. I will pass it on. Thank you so much for your excellent work.
