I am trying to find my G Grandfathers birth record.  His name was Joh August Nystrom b 7 April 1844.  His named was changed to August Alfred Anderson when he arrived in the US.  His last residence is listed as Kjula Parish and I also find Nykoping/Sodermanland as where he is listed as coming from on the emigration records.  His wifes name was Maria Charlotte Olsdotter b 2 Dec 1844, not sure of her maiden name.  They left Sweden in 1880 and settled in Michigan.

Paul,
According to the migration roll of Kjula the crofter Johan August Nyström left the parish on th 24th of April 1880 with his wife, son Carl Johan Nyström and four other children: 2 boys and 2 girls. Destination: North America.
They will all be found on page 132 (residence Hästhagen) in the household examination records of Kjula, which I, unfortunately, cannot check. Maybe someone else?

Paul,
Johan August Nyström was born in 1844 7/4 at Sundbyholm in Sundby parish, while Maria Charlotta Mård was born 1844 12/2 in the parish Jäder. Both Sundby and Jäder are situated fairly close to Kjula.

The couple was married in Jäder in 1865 15/5, and moved to Hästhagen from Sundby in 1876.
They had six children:
Carl Johan, born 1867 19/6 in Mora nr 1, Jäder,
Hulda Charlotta, born 1867 14/2 in Sundby,
Augusta Maria, born 1870 22/3 in Sundby,
Anders Fredrik, born 1873 25/2 in Sundby,
Wilhelm August, born 1876 20/6 in Kjula. He died 1876 18/7.
Gustaf Mauritz, born 1877 22/9.

Wilhelm August is said to be the 7th child in the family and Gustaf Mauritz child number 8. Two children had obviously died at an early age.

Johan August Nyström was the son of Anders Eriksson Nyström (born 1810 14/3 in Hallsberg parish) and Brita Stina Göransdotter (born 1807 25/10 in Lerbäck parish).

Maria Charlotta was working as a maid in Mora nr 1 in Jäder from 1859 until her marriage. Until 1859 she lived with her parents. Her father, Anders Jonsson Mård, was a soldier for Mågla rote in Jäder. He is said to have been born 1815 2/2 in Jäder, while his wife Johanna Andersdotter was born in 1813 15/11 in Barva parish.

It seems that the family had a specific destination already when they left Kjula, as they are said in the household examination roll to have moved to Michigan in North America.
