Eric Mellsten (also Melsteen) born about 1710, died 17.6.1764 Lillhovsgården, Ingå, Finland. The first sign of Eric in Finland is found in the census of 1739 in Raseborg Kungsgården, Karis Finland as a bailif/gårdfogde (https://astia.narc.fi/uusiastia/viewer/?fileId=5931761295&aineistoId=1779520154). He is also mentioned as an "ombudsman" in the same mansion in the Snappertuna communion book 1723-1738 (https://digihakemisto.net/item/1177011252/5948391521/30).
It is my guess that he is born in Sweden and may come from Mällsten Island. The reason to my guess is that Mellsten was and is very uncommon name in Finland.
Does anybody know about Mellsten/Mällsten families in Sweden and in which swedish books/församlings I should take a look at in hope to find Eric?

Hi Petri!
There is a "Mellsten" in Esbo, see https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mellsten,_Esbo
In the Stockholm archepelago there is an island "Mellsten", see https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A4llsten
The swedish island belonged to the parish of Österhaninge (AB) before 1726 and thereafter to the parish of Utö (AB).
