Titel: Why such a big name in the book?

Any idea why this entry was written so big in the book?

I also can't decipher the entry, besides the title Cornet and surname von Post.  Any help reading it would be appreciated!  Further down the page is an entry for my ancestor Corporalen Herr Eric Julius Salborn who was listed as being in the service of von Post. I'm trying to track them and not having any luck.

It's rather the rest of the writing that is extremely small. It looks like the priest wanted to save both ink and paper.  :)

But von Post's entry is written by another hand. It says:

"Cornetten wälborne von Post
J Pommern Herr Carl Richard"

Välborne = honourable.

"I Pommern" (in Pomerania) must have been written last, where it happened to be an empty space. Otherwise it makes no sense writing it in the middle of his name.

Cornetten wälborne von Post
I Pommern Herr Carl Richard

Cornett/kornett was the lowest officer rank in the cavalry.
välborne = honourable
herr = Mister, Mr.
i Pommern = in Pomerania (in the Pomeranian war Sweden–Prussia 1752–1762).

Jörgen and Maud, thank you for the replies!  This is really helpful information.  Now I need to trace Erik Salbom back to Stockholm to see if I can find his parents.

Do you think Salbom is a solider's name Erik may have chosen, or is it more likely an inherited surname?  It doesn't seem very common.
