This is a second try :)
Attached are two tax records that show my ancestor Nils (Svensson) as a soldier or ryttare.
Based on my previous post, the reference to 5ling seems to indicate a specific type of regiment, possibly a temporary regiment. I have looked at the information recommended in the previous response, but I cannot determine exactly where I should be looking for him. I wondered if anyone else has run into this in their research.
1705 tax record - Vänneböke Södergård, Hinneryd parish - I think it says 5ling, rytt Nils' wife - please correct me if this is not what is indicated....

1707 tax record - Vänneböke Södergård, Hinneryd parish - I think it says 5ling, rytt Nils' wife - please correct me if this is not what is indicated.

Any further help or information would be much appreciated. I'm afraid my military expertise is almost nil.
Thanks for your help,
Vicki

It does not say "ryttare", it says "knekt" shorted to Ktt which is an old word for soldier. So I guess the soldier Lennart found for you in the other topic might be right anyway.

Thank you VERY much, Kalle! The soldier that Lennart referenced seemed to fit but something wasn't quite right and now I know where. It was my error!!
Thank you for pointing it out! I still have trouble with handwriting and I apologize.
Thank you Klas and Lennart for the information you sent and I'm sorry for my error.
You have all been very helpful and I appreciate it very much,
Vicki
