Where do I find records for Soderkoping? My great-grandaunt, Johanna Johannesdotter (1 May 1839, Aker) moved to Soderkoping in 1864. I can't find it anywhere. I did visit there so I know where it is and that there is a wonderful ice cream parlor there. But I don't know where to go from this attached record at https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0023636_00026

Carol!
I think she never moved to Söderköping or the vicar has written wrong place!
I found her in the city of Norrköping (E)!

The town is still called Söderköping, but the parish name was changed to Sankt (S:t) Laurentii (https://sok.riksarkivet.se/kyrkoarkiv?Lan=%C3%96sterg%C3%B6tlands+l%C3%A4n&&Arkiv=SE%2fVALA%2f00322) in 1953. And it's under that name you find the parish records today.

Per & Jörgen,
Thanks for your help.

Per,
On Carl Ernst's record above there is a notation to the right that says something and includes a notation about Joh Berg ? Do you know what this means? And did you find out his wife's name? Thanks.
Carol

I think I found it. Her name was Carolina Kristina Magnusson. Is that what you found? Carol

Per,
Thanks again for all your help. There is one last sister I haven't been able to find. Hopefully you can help again.
Anna Stina Johannesdotter, born 12 Nov 1845, in Aker. I have looked for her everywhere I can think.
Did you get my email via my other address, not the gmail one?
Carol
-
Per,
Apparently there were more children as I have this record in Norrkopings St Olai.
-
Carol!
The Bergvall family has moved around to several placeas why I missed the elder children!
What I can see did they get 10 children!
I've got two emails from you, one gmail and one earthlink!
Per
-
Per,
Great! I was hoping my earthlink email went through. That's the one I use most of the time. Carol

Anna Stina moved to Jönköping 1868!
Jönköpings Kristina (F) AI:46 (1866-1873) Bild 461 / sid 456.
From Jönköping she moved 1870 to a place which look like "Nykyrka"! The problem is there are four different "Nykyrka"!
I can't find her in the Swedish Death Index!
I'll will try tomorrow if not someone else will find her!
Per
-
Per,
Thanks. I'll try to find her. Carol
-
Per,
It looks like she left for the US in 1871. The departure plan is Skaraborg, Nykyrka. I'll try to find her in the US, but it is difficult if there is no record of where she emigrated to.

Carol!
She is noticed as Anna Kristina Johansdotter at the railwaystation Mullsjö, Nykyrka.
She left the parish without any relocation cerificate during 1871 and was noticed as moved out 18721120 nr 44.
Did she have any close relatives, who earlier had emigrated? If yes, maybe she went to their place.
Per
-
Per,
Thanks again. I don't see any close relatives who came over. I did find a "Ann S Johansdotter", age 26 who left from Liverpool, England, and arrived in Boston, Massachusetts on 27 Nov 1871; but I don't think that is Anna. It is actually easier to track ancestors in Sweden than it is once they emigrate.
