Titel: Need help with 1707 tax record
Skrivet av: Victoria Cihla skrivet 2021-06-21, 19:58
Attached is a 1707 tax record for Kånna.  There is a note (circled) that I cannot understand.  Also, it looks like there are two "Pärs" living there, a Pär Eriksson (and wife?) and another Pär and wife.  I'm confused but maybe it relates to the note?  Can anyone help me to understand this record?

Any help would be much appreciated,

Vicki

The record says "Ibid: Pär Eriksöns gl Pär hustru"
"genom execusion till all sin egendom blottade  Hust. siuk utfattige"

It maybe means the farms name is like Pär Erikssons and the farmer is gl=old Pär and wife.
The text in the square to the right means aproximatly by execution all property gon and they are poor, wife sick and poor.

Perhaps an answer?

I believe the farm is called "the Pär Eriksson farm", to distinguish it from the other farms in the village. It might be from the Pär that lives there at the moment, or another one that was there before.

Thank you Lennart and Kalle!

There are a lot of Pärs, so I can understand why they might want to differentiate it from others.  I was particularly interested in this one because I am trying to determine which Pår my ancestor Erik Pårsson's father might be.  Erik farmed on K&nna Arvidsgård from 1734 until 1764/5 when his son-in-law Jonas Arvidsson took over.  There is a Pår (no last name) listed at Kånna Arvidsgård from at least 1694-1723 (maybe even earlier) but there is a break in-between where someone name Simon Swensson ran it between 1724-1733.  I realize that his father could be any of the Pårs or none of them.  :)   It's impossible to say, but I keep hoping to find some solid connection.

Thanks so much,

Vicki
