Titel: Seeking help with notes on a household exam
Skrivet av: Bradley Bystrom skrivet 2021-01-30, 21:46
Greetings,
I am seeking help with the notes on a household exam for Jacob Olofsson and Anna Jönsdotter (attached). Käringöns kyrkoarkiv, Husförhörslängder, SE/GLA/13307/A I/1 (1787-1848), Image ID: C0041430_00079, page 27
I see Anna listed as fattige (poor/pauper) with 2 til 5 (?) written next to it. What does that mean? The years she was considered poor? In this case 1802 till 1805? And was only Anna listed as poor or the entire family? I see one son and Anna's mother have passed away during this time.
I am also curious if Käringöns kyrkoarkiv, Husförhörslängder, SE/GLA/13307/A I/1 (1787-1848), Image ID: C0041430_00042, page 1 shows the number of families and population for Käringön for the year 1792.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
-Brad

"2 till 5" and similar notes are often found in the column "Knowledge", probably knowledge in Christianity, but in this case misplaced. Poor probably applies to the whole family. Three children, Hans probably born 1794, Olof probably 1801 that died around 5 years old, and Kerstin probably born 1805. And yes, 1792 75 households and 280 people.

Thanks Leif,
If I ever make it to Sweden I will not miss visiting Käringön. My direct maternal line comes from that tiny island.

Yes, that's a nice place, at least in the summer, I celebrated my 70th birthday on that island. The island is so small that you can't run a car on it.
