I am trying to document the transfer of title of Östansjö #8 (renamed #16) Lillhärdal, Jämtland from 1809 through 1880s.
Some background info: Jon Jonasson purchased the farm Östansjö #8 from his parents in 1860 and lived in Åsen from 1863 through 1884. Jon sold the farm to Bergvik & Ala sometime between 1876and 1885.
In searching Svegs tingslags häradsrätt, Jämtland for the contract of the sale to Bergvik, I have come across what appears to be a series of contracts in Lillhärdal, pg 9 - 15 in the following source document. In pg 13 - 15 there are numerous references to Jon Jonasson in Åsen an Östansjö and I would appreciate it if someone would provide a brief summary of the info in pg 13 - 15. Is this the contract of the sale to Bergvik & Ala? If it is the contract, what is the sales price?. There was a Födoråd included in the 1860 sale, is that being honored in the 1886 sale? There are frequent references to Jonas Persson & Märet Jonsdotter, how are they involved in the contract?
Any help will be appreciated.

The records where Jon Jonasson appears are about Östansjö #7. There is no renumbering. It's §13 - §16 and it's not the contract of sale but records of the legal procedure to register transfer of title. Some contracts are attached to the records starting at p 15 (§1 Bil. A), but there are no attachments to §13 - §16. §12 Bil. M is followed by §17 Bil. N. it seems to have been a complicated affair with sale and resale of parts of the farm. From 1875 title to land was recorded as "lagfart" in a register named "Lagfartsbok". This register has been scanned. You will find Östansjö #7 here: Svegs tingslags häradsrätt (Z) CIIIb:2 (1875-1968) Bild 1410 / sid 126 (AID: v904473.b1410.s126, NAD: SE/ÖLA/10834). There you can follow all transactions.
The contents of the columns:
1. Sequence number
2. Land transferred given in the unit "trög"; Östansjö #7 was 10 trög so e.g. 4 trög means 4/10 was transferred
3. Applicants (new owner) and their documents of acquisition
4. Present owners and their proof of title or a reference to a previously registered transfer
5. Date when title was applied for and § in court record
6. Date when title was granted and § in court record

Thanks for the info. It has added some clarity to my understanding of the transfer of title from one generation to another. One more question: what is the definition of "trög"?

"Trög" is a fiscal unit. In most of the country the fiscal unit that defined the tax that should be payed by the farm was "mantal", bur some provinces hade other units. I Härjedalen the unit was "trög". The connection between the units was that 36 trög = 1 mantal. The word is related to "tray", so the original idea may have been that one "trög" was as much land as could be sown with one tray of grain.
