Thank you. That confirms the information on FamilySearch. Catharina's paternal grandfather is listed as:
Olof Jonsson
26 August 1767
Brunflo, Jämtland, Sweden
*his death date is listed as October 1829 but no location
*his surname also includes either "Gard or Gerd" depending on the record
Can anyone tell which one it is???
Olof Jonsson's father is listed as:
Jons Jonsson Berglof
28 June 1737
Brunflo, Jämtland, Sweden
*his death is listed as:
10 January 1788
Gärde, Brunflo, Jämtland, Sweden
Could/does the surname "Gard or Gerd" come from the: Gärde, Brunflo, Jämtland, Sweden?
-
Olof died in Brunflo October 29 1829 (SE/ÖLA/11045/F/1)
His name Gärd (or Gerd) was his soldier name, after Gärde.
He served as a soldier 1797 - 1817 and became a corporal during that time.
Even his father served as a soldier with the soldier name Berglöf.
