I have 2 questions on the attached household exam record for Torp, Bolmsö, Jönköping:

* What is the Sven's patronymic name?
* Where does the note say Ingeborg went?
Your help would be much appreciated,

I would say that his name is Swensson.
I read the place as Skinnebo.
-
From the birth record for Ingeborg the fathers name is Sven Jaensson, Bolmsö (F, G) C:1 (1688-1746) Bild 101 / sid 195 (AID: v30766.b101.s195, NAD: SE/VALA/00038), but it don't really look like that on page 182. She moves to Skinnabo/Kinnabo and might be the one on page 194 with the birth year 1743, but then the priest made an error as she was born 1744-01-06.

It can be read as 'Suensson', with a modern S, in the birth record. Compare with the J i January.

Thank you both for your responses.
I had been trying to locate Ingeborg's marriage record to Jacob Svensson which had previously eluded me. I finally found it today in Bolmsö, Jönköping. It was trial and error, checking all the parishes near Dannäs, Jönköping where Jacob Svensson was from (according to the marriage record for his first marriage) when I couldn't find it in the familiar places in Kronoberg.
The 1769 marriage record between the widower Jacob Svensson from Angelstad (where he was living with his first wife) and Ingeborg Svensdotter indicates that she was from Torp, Bolmsö, Jönköping. Jacob's first wife died in June 1768 and Jacob and Ingeborg's first child was born in 1770 so I believe I have the correct marriage record.

I've also located the 1738 marriage record for Ingeborg's parents in Bolmsö, Jönköping, Sweden. I now believe it indicates that her parents names were Sven Svensson and Elin Johansdotter.

Now I need to locate all the birth records. :) And then tax records and maybe even estate records!
If you think any of this information is incorrect, please let me know!
Thanks again for your help,

Just saw the last note - so Svensson would be ok, then?
I was confused by the record I asked about because the two S's did not look alike! :)
Thanks so much!

Svensson is always OK ;D
-
Ulf is right, it is Suensson in the birth record. On page 182 Sven is the usually modern letter and in Suensson it is the usually old S, here the old one is used after the modern one.
-
It is very odd for me. I can't remember seen the old and the new S in writing like this, in the same line.

Thanks again to you both for all your help! There's always something more to learn :)
You're right then! Svensson is ok!
