Attached is a 1787 tax record for Jakob Swensson. Can anyone tell me what the note (circled) means? And, is Håkan a son or a farmhand? (not sure I have the dot right on his name). :)

The dot is OK!
I would say that Håkan is 'son'. Compare with Svensson on the line above.
I have no idea regarding the note, not even a guess.

The 1787 record is not available at Riksarkivet/SVAR so I can't check the rest of the record. The note seems to be added after the record was set-up. Maybe it is something about payment??
Is the note above 'Rest'?
Just guessing :-\

Thanks! Yes, I should have realized that it was the same letter as the S in Swensson! I had been looking at another tax year where it looked more like a D, so wasn't sure.
I don't think it is "Rest" - it looks like initials R. R. B. 6.11 or something - I have no idea. I agree it looks like it was added later.
If anyone has an idea what it is, I'd be very interested in knowing.
Thanks for your ongoing help,

The other word seems to be Rust. - rusthållare. I don't know what those notes mean, maybe something about the taxes. Probably nothing of interest for a genealogist.

Thank you! Good to know. I wouldn't want to miss something important!
