I've included the link to a page that lists the page numbers for parishes included in the tax registers for 1778. Instead of a page number for Kånna parish, it is included with a group of parishes with a notation after it. Can someone tell me what it refers to? Maybe a different district or something?
Any help would be much appreciated,

Hi Victoria,
The group of parishes, "saknas", is missing.
When the volume 79 is opened the info text "defekt, textförluster i slutet" is shown.

in Riksarkivet I found an entry for Nr 14 Arvidsgården, Kånna for Sten Jonsson, on the far right of the right hand page, there is a comment for this entry (I think) - does it say 5 children? or ?

The Riksarkivet search tool is great! Thanks very much for your help with this!

in Riksarkivet I found an entry for Nr 14 Arvidsgården, Kånna for Sten Jonsson, on the far right of the right hand page, there is a comment for this entry (I think) - does it say 5 children? or ?
Column 2 to the right of Sten Jönssons name - number of men
Column 3 - wifes
Column 6 - sons
Column 7 - daughters
Column 8 - farmhands
Column 9 - maids
as the headlines in the beginning of the book (https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/A0001570_00006#?c=&m=&s=&cv=5&xywh=1346%2C274%2C1107%2C913),
so at N:o 14 there is one maid.
The figure 1 at the left of Sten Jönsson means one household. The number in the 14th column is 5 and it seems to be the number of under aged children. At the end to the right it also says "5 Barn".
I'm not good at reading all the headlines...
But I'm good at one thing, reading names: Sten Jönsson (a different surename from Jonsson), Victoria! Remember we talked about the dots! ;)

Thank you for this information! Yes, I certainly do remember the dots! :) I must apologize, it is correct in my computer database and I try to copy/paste the names of people and places from my database because my Swedish screen keyboard is very awkward. I will try to do better!
Thanks again for your help,

Meanwhile you could use "oe" for an "ö" and spell the name Joensson.
Jöns, Joens.
Jon is a different name. BUT it sometimes is spelled Joen and that's not about an "ö"... so the spelling Joensson is not so good after all.
Another option (https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Sweden_Typing_the_letters_%C3%85,_%C3%84,_and_%C3%96):
Alt + 134 = å Alt + 132 = ä Alt + 148 = ö
Alt + 143 = Å Alt + 142 = Ä Alt + 153 = Ö

Wonderful! Much easier. :) I'll use that going forward...
Thanks much,
