Hello,
I believe this is my 5th great-grandfather Johan Ericsson's birth record, born 8 Oct 1701, baptised 13 Oct. Could someone help me with his father's name and any other names in the record.

Thank you Anti! I think Odensvi is confusing as I don't know whether they are listing the father's given name or the surname. I do not see Erik/Erich twice. Do you feel his name is Erik Eriksson? Sorry for the rookie question.

Eriks son at Smeltartorpet, named Johan, is my interpretation.
His surname or patronymic name is not listed here.
I found an Erich at Smelttartorpet(?) at
Odensvi AI:1 (1713-1723), bildid: C0028357_00033 (https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/C0028357_00033#?c=&m=&s=&cv=32&xywh=415%2C1243%2C1075%2C847), sida/page 38.
I don't know if this is the same Erich. The name spells different during the decades, Erich, Eric, Erik.

Fantastic thank you! I'll look for it now. Yes, a distant cousin in Sweden has a pic of Smältaretorpet on Johan's page. It's a beautiful farm on a river.

I am looking for Smältaretorpet in the tax records earlier than the year 1700, but haven't found it yet.

There is another son Pär of an Erik at Smältartorpet born on July 2nd 1706, with a minimum of info as at the earlier birth.

I have not found Smältaretorpet in the population register between 1690 and 1712, so the family may be listed at a different place. There are some Erics in Odensvi and it is possible to exclude some of them as they are fathers of other children during the same period.
