I found my Great Great Grandfather Pher Olsson in the following Household exam (County: Värmland; Parish: Borgvik; Volume: AI:12; Record Type: Husförhör (Household examination); Year Range: 1841 - 1845; Roll/Fiche: XY-52; Handwritten/Stamped Page Number: 102/0)
What does the name Johannedal above his fathers name mean? Is that a farm maybe? I'll be visiting Borgvik in September and I have only started researching the area where they have lived.

Only one family lives in Johannisdal during this time period. As the father is titled "torpare" this most likely means they are living in a "torp" or we could call it a kind of small farm. I have not found the name Johannisdal in this area on contemporary maps, but it would be possible to find the place by searching older maps.

Johannesdal is a Torp on the property Måserud on the page before, and the properties before and after are Nygård and Arnäs. Nor Johannisdal neither Måserud are any buildings or places today, but on Häradsekonomiska kartan 1883-95 it looks like below. Nygård and Bjurtjärnen are places you find both on the old map and todays map (hitta.se).

Thank you very much Anti. I quickly found my Great Grandmother Anna Magnusdotter recorded death in the Borgvik Church records. That had eluded me for a few months.
