Titel: looking for birth records
Skrivet av: Gerrit Hellfaier skrivet 2017-11-16, 13:46
Hello,

this is my first visit into the swedish genealogy.

My grandmother was born in Graditz / Saxonia as daughter of a famous trainer of horses and their jockeys (horse racing) between 1923 and 1930 in Ulriksdal. The family left Sweden in October 1930.

Is there any chance to get something about her father's life and effects of his work or immigration/emigration to/from Sweden?
Spademan, William George (*26.06.1884 Pardubitz +01.11.1911 Neuenhagen near Berlin)

Her two younger brothers were born in Stockholm.
Is there a possibility to reveive their birth records? And how?
Spademan, Wilhelm Norbert Ferdinand (*06.01.1926 Stockholm +04.11.2013 Frechen)
Spademan Karl Erik (04.11.1927 Stockholm +2014)

Thank you very much for your help

Gerrit

Hello Gerrit,

Here is the family in the household records 1924-1926, living in Ulriksdals trädgård (= Ulriksdal's garden) in Solna parish:
Solna AIIa:29b (1914-1926) page 2487

(Obviously the father's death date cannot be 01.11.1911. It's the marriage date.)

See the birth records below. The children were baptised in the German parish (Tyska Sankta Gertrud) in Stockholm. Karl Erik was born in Stockhom (Birger Jarlsgatan 110), but the family still lived in Ulriksdal, Solna, at the time.

There is a lot to be read in the newspapers:

WOW! Åke, that is great! Thank you so much!

Are the houshold records for public view? If so, could you send me the link to them, please.

The household record matches to 100% with my information.

To the birth record of Karl-Erik I have some questions:
- I assume that Karl-Erik had his baptism at 18.03.1928 - correct?
- What is the next column for?
- I assume that the 3rd column is for the godparents: "Fröken Georgia Deans ___" [the grandmother] and "Hr. Willi Klose båda i Tyskland" [must be the uncle, I only knew his wife, the sister of Karl's mother] - what do you think?

It will need some time to have a look at the newspapers.

Kind regards

Gerrti

Yes, you are correct:

William George died at 21.05.1962 in Dahlwitz-Hoppegarten and married at 01.11.1911 in Neuenhagen.

The records are available through Arkiv Digital (subscription) or Riksarkivet/SVAR (subscription right now, but free from January 2018):

http://www.arkivdigital.se/aid/info/v273372a.b2410.s2487 (http://www.arkivdigital.se/aid/info/v273372a.b2410.s2487)

Yes, the baptism date is correct. In the next column you find the name of the priest, in this case the vicar Ohly from the German parish (Tyska Sankta Gertrud). And the godparents are "miss Georgia Deans and mister Willi Klose, both in Germany".

Thanks again, Åke!
