Please excuse the english, but I do not understand Swedish. I live in the United States and wish to trace my family back in Sweden, both living and deceased. I need help! Below is the information on my fathers paternal side of the family. That emigrated to Mariadahl area (near Olsburg), Pottawatomie County, Kansas, USA from Skölvene, Älvsborgs län, Västergötland in 1869. We are uncertain as to which name they were using at the time they left Sweden.
My Great-Great-Grandfather:
Jacob (or Jakop) Johnson (or Johansson) changed to Björklund, then Burklund. b 29 Aug 1827 Skölvene socken
Anna Bengtsdotter (wife of Jacob) b. 29 Sep 1823 (or 30 Sep, 1 Oct 1823) Alboga socken
Their children: Anders Johan (John Andrew) - b. 15 Aug 1853 Skölvene socken Augusta Matilda - b. 24 May 1856 Skölvene socken Alma Fredrika - b. 18 Jul 1860 Skölvene socken Frans August - b. 28 Jan 1864 Skölvene socken
