I am looking for the emigration information for Karl Adolf Nelsson, born 14 Jan 1875, died 30 Jun 1946 in Rochester, Monroe, NY. We believe he arrived about 1901. I do not know where in Sweden he was from. Any help greatly appreciated.

I only found one Carl/Karl Adolf Nilsson, born 1875, in the Swedish 1900 Census.
Hemförsamling: Borås stad
Hemort: Kronäng 4.
Nils Petter Jonasson, f. 1835 i Gingri Älvsborgs län, Fattighjon
Edvard Ludvig, f. 1864 i Sandhult Älvsborgs län, Sjöman
Hilma Josefina, f. 1872 i Borås Älvsborgs län, Sömmerska
Carl Adolf Nilsson, f. 1875 i Borås Älvsborgs län, Vävare
Clas Herman Nilsson, f. 1867 i Sandhult Älvsborgs län
I didn't find his birth record in Borås, but I found his family in the household records. There it says he was born 10 Jan 1875 [1]. We need to find him in the later volumes to see if he emigrated.

Found the household record by going through all volumes for that page number. Here we see that Karl Adolf emigrated together with his older sister Hilma Josefina, born 14 Oct 1872 [1].

The Borås migration records (1901:105 & 1901:106) for the siblings doesn't add any information [1]. The migration date is 2 Apr 1901, as mentioned before.

Hilma and Carl arrives to Boston April 18 on Ivernia. Carl and Hilma states they are going to sister Selma Nilsson in Boston. Selmas address seems to be changed to Waltham Mass at a later stage.

The mother died 1900 and the father moved to Fattighuset 1901 [1]. You should try to find the fathers probate record to see if there are any information on the migrated children.

It is interesting that the 1910 census has 1893 for Carl and 1901 for Irene as immigration date. Irene arrives in 1904 and Carl ?
Census 1930 say 1901 for both, and the age of Irene is approx 6 years wriong

I didn't find them in the US Census. Where are they? Who is Irene?

We have all that information. I've learned not to put too much faith in dates and ages and spellings on those census reports. They were often wrong. Depends on who was giving the info to the enumerator. With 10 years between, people often forgot the actual dates or the person who is telling it really didn't know and guessed.

I just published it as the 1910 say 1893 as immigration year for Carl and the 1930, 20 years later say 1901, and the findings above are partially based on 1901 as immigration year
