Hallo Wade I've just begun with your question about the relationship. As far as I see it, you have two families that are combined by Neta Johannesdotter when she marries Jonas Peter Johansson 1879-03-25.
The parents of Neta are Johan Jonasson, born 1828-05-31 in Tjärby. She has a brother Jöns Petter Jonasson born 1854-06-25 in Eldsberga. This Jöns Petter goes with their father (Jonas Jonasson) to America 1875-05-05 with destination Mineral Port. Lena, her mother and siblings are going in 1875 at first, there is a certificate which arrived not earlier than 1877-03-27.)
The parents of Jonas Peter Johansson, born 1854-07-05 at Öppinge, Snöstorp, are Johannes Bengtsson, born 1809-08-11 at Skärkered, Breared, and Pernilla Larsdotter born 1813-08-28 at Tolarp, Snöstorp.
I can see that there are a lot of wrong dates in the book you mentioned, but I will correct some of them later on.
