Hello Ann!
Thank you very much for your help.
Is there any chance of finding his brother, Karl Viktor Pettersson, or do I need to find a date of birth for him?
Glen
-
Hi Glen,
I can't find Karl Viktor Pettersson.
On the CD is every person who died 1950-1999. But for the period 1950-1970 is all without names and the places where they where born.
Without the date of his birth and where he died is it very difficult to find him on the CD if he died 1950-1970.
To find out when he was born:
If anyone has the Micro Cards for SCB födda 1898-1920 in Morup they might find him. You can also try to contact the parish in Morup to see if they can help you. morups.pastorat@svenskakyrkan.se

Maybe he's alive. Its not impossible, I guess. He'd be in his nineties.
-
Hi Glen,
I do not think so. I have a CD called Sveriges befolkning 1970. Every person in Sweden who lived 1970 is on that CD. I can't find any Karl Viktor Pettersson. But I could find a Karl Erik Pettersson born in Morup. But he was born in 1909.

Hi Ann,
Maybe I should be looking for Karl Viktor Karlsson, not Pettersson. His father's name was Peter Adolf Karlsson. Karl Viktor was called Karl Viktor Pettersson in his father's bouppteckning, in 1958. But maybe he was known as Karl Viktor Karlsson, not Pettersson.
Karl Viktor's brother, Erik Ragnar, used the name Karlsson, not Pettersson.
I will try to find out when this man was born.

Hi Glen,
2 Karl Viktor Karlsson, born in Morup, died during 1970-1999. But they where born 1895-10-25 and 1897-07-16. And on the CD Sveriges befolkning 1970 was the same to men and unfortunally no more.

Hi Ann,
Thank you. I found out from Lena Thelin that the 1900 Morup SCB census lists him as Carl Wiktor, born 1900. His father was Peter Adolf Carlsson, born 1869 in Denmark.
So his surname could have been Carlsson, Karlsson, Petersson, Pettersson.
He was alive in 1958, otherwise he wouldn't have been listed as an heir in his father's estate inventory.
Do you have any other ideas? I don't.

Glen, there is a place Alafors as well as a place Anneberg in Älvsåker parish, Kungsbacka kommun. Check with Älvsåker parish for a death date, there are a handful of men on the CD born between 1900-1905 that died after 1958 and before 1971 in that parish.

Oh great. My memory is much worse that I thought. I am organizing my notes better so that I don't do this again. How embarrassing!

Eva,
Thanks again for your help. I'll send the church office an email. But my experience with the small parish churches is that they will not reply. I don't think they have the time to help with these kinds of requests.
Thanks again for all of your help.

Hi Ann,
May I also please request a look-up from the
Death CD? I am searching for this lady and I
only have her maiden name and don't know if
she
married or not. Is that enough?
Rut Elna Viola Fast - born May 03, 1902 in
Äapvik, Hjorted, Kalmar län
Thanks very much!

Ulla and Joel,
Thank you so much! That is surely her - I was
off by one day with the birth date. Sorry for my
error! I'm glad to know who her husband was
-
this is very interesting and a great help to me!
You're the best!
Regards,
Kay Engman
-
Kay, maybe you are not all wrong with the date - 3/5 1902 can very well be the date of her christening!
-
Ah, that's true! I'm so glad that at least the
date was close enough that you could find her!
I
will have to do some digging to find the source
before I know if I wrote the date wrong or if the
source was wrong. Tack så mycket!
Kay
-
Joel,
May I ask what was the source for this
information? I think the death is too recent to
be on the Sveriges Dödbok.
Kay

Kay,
I just made a phone call to the Swedish population registration authorities and asked them about Rut Elna Viola Albihn born 2/5 1902.
They gave me the date and parish of her death, and confirmed that her maiden name was Fast. However, because of her being born so long ago, they had no information on her parents.
