We aim to please! Seriously, it's nice to be able to provide answers to questions posed by dedicated and serious genealogists and researchers (which I know Karen to be). And (economic) history and ethnology are of course my special subjects.
Ingela PS I see that I've forgotten to name the other two factors that contributed to the sky-rocketing population growth: the vaccine (against smallpox) and the peace (after 1815). The connection between potatoes/vaccine/peace and population increase was noted already quite early in the 19th century by the famous Bishop of Växjö, the poet Esaias Tegn?r.
